Look, I'm not gonna feed you some fairytale about how I was born with dumbbells in my hands. Truth is, back in 2017, I was working a desk job that was slowly killing my soul and my body. One day I caught my reflection in an elevator mirror and barely recognized myself.
That's when I stumbled into a CrossFit box during lunch break. Got absolutely destroyed by the workout, couldn't walk right for three days... and I was hooked. Spent the next two years obsessing over functional movement, got every cert I could get my hands on, and trained under some seriously tough coaches.
By 2019, I knew what Vancouver needed - a place that didn't sugarcoat the work, didn't promise overnight transformations, but gave people the real tools to become legitimately strong. So I cashed out my savings, found this warehouse space on West 4th, and Kryndar Forgeverse was born. The name? It's about forging something new, something better. You're the metal, we provide the fire.
Started with 47 members, two squat racks, and a dream. Ran classes myself six days a week while still working part-time to keep the lights on.
When gyms shut down, we didn't quit. Set up outdoor training sessions in parking lots and parks. Our members stuck with us through the chaos, and that loyalty meant everything.
Doubled our floor space, brought on three killer coaches, and added Olympic lifting platforms. Finally could quit my side gig and go all-in.
Our members started crushing it at local comps, so we formed an official comp team. Took home medals at three provincial events that year.
We're 300+ members strong with a coaching team that's second to none. But we're still that same no-frills spot where everyone leaves their ego at the door and just puts in the work.
